Optimum - Gelcoat Restorer

Introducing the New & Improved Optimum Gelcoat Restorer, meticulously engineered to revive Gelcoat surfaces to their original factory finish without the hassle of polishing. Our enhanced formula ensures easier application and superior self-levelling properties, resulting in faster application times and a more uniform finish. Optimum Gelcoat Restorer ("GCR") not only rebuilds the Gelcoat to its original thickness but also restores its glossiness while providing added UV protection against oxidation.

Apply multiple thin coats. 

Directions for Use:

1. Begin by removing loose oxidation using Optimum Power Clean and a brush or mild scuff pad. Rinse the surface thoroughly and allow it to dry.
   
2. With gloves and eye protection, apply GCR to the surface in overlapping circular motions. Apply thin coats to avoid over-application, especially on heavily oxidised areas.
   
3. Once the first coat is dry to the touch (typically 20-30 minutes), apply a second coat using a pearl weave, low nap towel or MF applicator. Add more product if the applicator starts to drag.
   
4. Depending on the level of oxidation, up to 5 coats may be required. Apply the final coat in straight lines.
   
5. To maintain the restored surface, wash with Optimum No Rinse (ONR) and regularly apply Optimum Car Wax.
   
6. One bottle of GCR is sufficient for 4 coats on a 40-foot boat or RV.
   

Gelcoat Application Tips:

• For use on old or fading gelcoat.
• Apply thin, moderate coats for best results.
  
• Ensure the Gelcoat is heavily oxidised for optimal absorption.
  
• Use a DAMP pearl weave towel or low nap MF applicator for smooth application.
  
• For stubborn streaking, polish with Optimum Hyper Polish and an orange foam pad.
• 2-3 year durability (wax every 6 months).
